Bus: Sørlandsexpressen, Konkurrenten, Kystbussen, Airport bus.
Train: NSB. Intercity train.

Airport: Kjevik airport, Torp airport, Ryanair at Torp airport.

By car: Risør is situated on the southeast coast of Norway. It is the first "Sørlans town" one arrives at when driving from Oslo. It is 12 km to the centre of Risør from the E18 (the European Highway). The following chart shows the distance to Risør from a number of central towns in Norway.

By bus: Risør has bus-connections with both Oslo and Stavanger, with several departures daily. For guests arriving by aeroplane in Kristiansand it is possible to take an airport bus from the airport to Arendal. From Arendal one must then take a regular bus to Risør through Tvedestrand * The buses to Risør do not drive to the centre of town, they stop in Vinterkjær. From Vinterkjær there is a bus that goes directly down to the centre of Risør.
By train: NSB (the state owned train company) has good connections to Risør. The train goes to Gjerstad and corresponds with a bus going directly to Risør (30 minutes). On certain departures the train goes to Vegårshei instead of Gjerstad, but also from Vegårshei there is a direct connection with Risør.
By aeroplane: The airports closest to Risør are Kjevik (Kristiansand) and Torp (Sandefjord). From Kjevik there is an airport bus connection to Arendal and from Arendal a regular bus to Risør. From Torp you can take a taxi a few km to come to "Sørlansbussen". Torp is the airport for the aeroplanes of Ryanair.
By boat: Close to Risør there is a ferry service to Sweden, Denmark and England.
